altar guild
The Altar Guild serves to prepare the worship space with the furnishings, appointments, vessels, elements, linens,and paramagnets used in the lithurgy.

A bi-weekly fellowship program for seniors.

children's ministry
The Children Ministry exists to ensure that God has a plan for their lives and that God's plan is real. The ministry is designed to teach children God's message in a way they can understand it. The ministry also exists to ensure that parents with young children can gain proper spiritual nourishment during Sunday service. Click Church Leadership for the Leaders of our choirs.

christian education
The Christian Education Ministry is the snyergy of many of the organizations of the church. It is here that we bring our combined gifts and talents in service to Jesus Christ. The goal is to provides opportunities for the church to grow as Christian Disciples and occasions for outreach and witness throughout the global community.

church council
Church Council is the administrative and legislative body of the church. Its membership is composed of the officers of the church elected by the congregation: President of the Council, Vice-President, Church Clerk, Financial Secretary, Treasurer, Chair of the Trustee Board and three members at large. In addition to the elected members, the Chair of the Deacon Board plus three deacons; Co-Chairs of Christian Education and the Senior Pastor, ex-officio, are members of this body which serves as a forum for the development of administrative policies, operating guidelines and recommends a capitol and operating budget to the congregation. Governing authority for this local United Church of Christ resides in the congregation. Governance is managed by the Church Council, on behalf of the congregation, between formal meetings of the congregation.

church school
The Church School ministry provides Sunday School services every sunday for children between the ages of 4-18, as well as adults. Children participate in lesson plans designed to develop their understanding of God.

Deacon board
Assist the pastor in promoting the spiritual welfare of this Body of Christ called Heritage.

library & archives
Our library provides spiritual, historical and cultural information resources to the Heritage U.C.C. members and organizations.The books, videos, dvds, cds, and church documents are available for borrowing or reference. In addition, from time to time there are book sales, book exchanges and displays from our archives.

men's fellowship
The Men's Fellowship provides mentorships to disadvantaged teens in the church and in the community.

men's guild
The Guild is a ministry for participation by all men of Heritage United Church of Christ, ages 18 and over. The objectives of the Guild are to: organize activities that further enhance spiritual development; plan and/or participate in activities that promote fellowship and stronger bonds; and lastly, implement out-reach ministries which remind those in need of the love of Christ, our Savior.

Membership Development ensures that new members are quickly orientated into the church. We have developed an outstanding orientation for new members. We invite leaders of the church's ministries to meet with new members and share their objectives, activities, answer questions and extend a warm welcome to members to participate with the group.

music ministry
Heritage has a number of choirs that allow both members and non-members to worship God through both traditional and contemporary songs. There are 3 adult choirs: Sanctuary Choir(Traditional); Praise and Worship Choir (Contemporary); and, the Men's Choir (Traditional). For our youth we have a Children's Choir, and a Children's Bell Choir (Angel Bell Choir).

Serves the "least of these" with food and clothing.

scholarship & leadership guild
The core values of our ministry are faith, vision, service and education. The ministry assists students with decision making challenges and serves as committed mentors. We also sponsor group activities appropriate to academic levels.

social justice committee
The Social Justice Committee provides advocacy and programs for social justice issues involving health care, criminal justice, education and economics.

spiritual renewal team
The goals of this team are to enhance our religious experiences by drawing on spiritual disciplines that can help us unfold our lives, our careers and our spiritual practices to fit our “life purposes.” The Spiritual Renewal Team supports the Church’s mission and programs.

The Stewardship ministry is in the process of revisiting its structure and function.

trustee ministry
Oversee the management of the financial operations of the church funds, including but not limited to, investments, expenses, purchases and donations from the church.

tutorial ministry
Provides tutorial services to children in the Heritage community as well as the surrounding Baltimore community.

usher board
Ushers are first line greeters and welcome all who enter for worship. Ushers also attend to the needs of visitors and the congregation when needed during church services.

This ministry is the umbrella for the activities of the youth and young adults. We work together with leaders from the other minsitries that focus on youth to help support their programs.
