Membership InformationThis is an example for an image

Heritage United Church of Christ extends to you a most cordial invitation to become a member of its fellowship. You may join by:

1.  A profession of your faith and baptism.

We welcome into our membership all those who are willing to answer YES to the following:

  • Do you acknowledge yourself to be a sinner in the sight of God, justly deserving his displeasure, and without hope except in his sovereign mercy?
  • Do you believe in the Lord Jesus Christ as the Son of God our Father and your Saviour, and do you receive and rest upon him alone for salvation as He is offered in the Gospel?
  • Do you now resolve and promise, in humble reliance upon the grace of the Holy Spirit, that you will endeavor to live as becometh the followers of Christ?
  • Do you promise to support Heritage in its worship and work with your time, talents and monies, to the best of your ability?
  • Do you submit yourself to Jesus Christ as the Head of this church, and to the government and discipline of Heritage?

2.  A Letter or Certificate of transfer:

  • We will receive anyone into our membership who is in good standing and regular standing in another church.
  • We do not require baptism, but accept as valid any baptism administered by an ordained minister in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, regardless of the mode used.
  • Our church office will be happy to write for your letter of transfer.

3.  A Restatement of Faith

  • Those who cannot secure a letter of transfer who have been inactive and wish to make a fresh beginning in the Christian life and rededicate themselves to God, are received on the restatement of their faith, without re-baptisim.
  • When a person unites by restatement he is asked to re-affirm, in the presence of the Deacon Board, his faith in Jesus Christ and renew the vows and covenants of the church.
